“AT RISK” But Not Forgotten

CATCO, of Columbus OH has received a grant which will provide cross-curricular theatre education for hundreds of students.  Through substantive arts learning, they will use the lens of the theatre to help student develop a deeper understand of both theatre and other academic subjects such as science or social studies. These students who have been defined as “at risk of failure in the classroom by the Ohio Department of Education will have CATCO theatre members ignite their imaginations, helping them to become more engaged in learning and school.  Students will learn to create, write, edit, produce and ultimately perform plays based upon challenging  academic subjects chosen by their teachers.

Theatre is a shared experience that illuminates the mysteries of our humanity. Its magic has the power to transform us whether on stage, in the classroom, or in our diverse communities. CATCO creates theatre that delights, challenges, and transports.
