A first time Grant Award has been given to Pickerington Community Theatre who will be hosting and working with the touring company of the Missoula Children’s Theatre for a week long Residency Project June 15020. A Casting Call will go out to the community for young aspiring actors and actresses to come and audition for the show RAPUNZEL. The tour team will lead those auditioning in fun activities to showcase listening, following directions, communication skill, creativity and talent and the end of these “exercises” the roles are announced and rehearsals will start. For the next three days the touring company will conduct enrichment workshops open to children of the community and by week’s end the children involved will have taken the stage with the touring company and put on two live performances of the show! This diverse group of children from the community will be left with a sense of accomplishment and confidence, which will carry over into their scholastic activities and remain a hallmark in their lives.
