PFW again provided grant support to the Massachusetts Clubhouse Coalition (MCC).  This grant was used help to address the overwhelming stigma and significant unemployment so many people with serous mental illness face on a daily basis, impacting their ability to live satisfying and stable lives in the community.  This support is used to raise the positive visibility of the accomplishments of people who have mental illness.  On April 15th MCC recognized the companies that have taken action to diversify their workforce by hiring people who have mental illnesses.  This Massachusetts Employment Celebration  took place in the Massachusetts State House with State Representatives and corporate leaders in attendance.  Over 8,000 people with mental illness participate annually in the 30 MA Clubhouses.  For many, the Clubhouse community has become their family  and has lessened   the isolation that can be so deadly for those recovering from the effects of mental illness.
