Celebrate Virtually 25 Years

Established in 2003, Welltone New Music, Inc. www.cuttingedgeconcerts.org supports creative music projects that serve the public through cultural diversity, education, outreach and innovation. Its primary goal is to supply living composers with performance opportunities and to provide the public with a way to experience contemporary music. Through the efforts of Artistic Director Victoria Bond, Welltone produces and finances Cutting Edge Concerts New Music Festival.

Cutting Edge Concerts New Music Festival exists to celebrate, support and promote the work of living composers. Over the past 25 years, works by more than 200 composers have been played by some of the best chamber music performing artists in the country. Audiences have delighted to dozens of world premieres and hundreds of on-stage conversations with the composers themselves. The 2022 season marks the 25th year of the concert series, which Chamber Music America has called “a full-throttle commitment to contemporary music.”

The theme for our 2022 Festival is ‘Bringing People Together’. Because of the stress, loneliness and isolation of the past year, Welltone New Music believes now is the time to bring people together with music that expresses uplifting spiritual themes of hope. To accomplish this, Cutting Edge Concerts will bring together four arts organizations during the 2022 season that share its vision, performing in different locations throughout the metropolitan area, along with live streaming offerings, and producing a season that powerfully expresses our theme.
