COLUMBU DANCE THEATRE’S CLAUDEL with The Carpe Diem String Quartet and Chritina Kirk

Columbus Dance Theatre’s Artistic Director and resident choreographer Tim Veach will combine dance, theatre, music, poetry, visual arts, an multi-media elements in CDT’s world premiere production of Claudel. Claudel was August Rodin’s lover.   The Carpe Diem String Quartet will perform the an original score composed by member Korine Fujiwara and original poetry and a theatrical performance by celebrated poet Christine Kirk is integrated through the innovative choreographed. The life and art of Camille Claudel served as the catalyst for the Creation of this new work that explores the dimension of Claudel’s brilliant and troubled career as a female artist in a male dominated field. Claudel’s life was challenging, beautiful, passionate and in the end tragic. Claudel literally carved a career out of stone in a time when women were not granted independent artistic voices. 

Performaces of Claudel will be given at CDT’s Fisher Theatre -529 East Main Street- on Friday January 24th at 8:00 pm and  on Saturday Janaury 23rd at 3:00 and 8:00 p.m.  Tickets  614 849 0227
