FRANKLINTON FARMS ARE IN A CITY

Franklinton Farms distributes produce in a neighborhood that relies heavily  on SNAP/EBT  programs to ger fresh vegetables and fruit into their diet.  The Franklinton neighborhood suffers from lower than average incomes, life expectancy, and eduction, and higher crime rates, infant mortality, and housing cost burden.  Last year their “warehouse” looked like this

This year the van that this NFP was able to buy to make the deliveries will be painted by a local artist  so that it is recognized as it goes through the neighborhood as it provides discounted food at  up to 50% of its cost.    This program is so important that they have about 1000 volunteers tht wish to share grwo food, share food By having a moving piece of art, their VAN, with an artful wrap will also inform the community that art is important too to a neighborhood
