MASHIKO, TOCHIGI PREFECTURE, JAPAN is a Friendship City of Dublin Ohio. Master contemporary Japanese ceramicist, MASAYUKI MIYAJIMA will return to the Dublin Arts Council (DAC)in November as part of their Visual Arts Series. Masayuki’s pottery is imbued with the combination of body, mind and spirit. To remove barriers of participation of the workshops all programming will remain free of charge allowing a wide cross-section of the community the opportunity to engage with the unique immersive arts experience. 500 Dublin Elementary students grades twill be invited to participate in workshops
and to broaden their knowledge regarding Japanese language and art forms. Dublin is home to a diverse ethnic composition and the most common foreign languages spoken there are Japanese and Chinese. This project fulfills DAC’s mission in engaging he community, cultivating creativity and fostering life-long learning by providing accessible, inclusive cultural enrichment opportunities.
