Mike Kilmer and his wife Rivka’s musical group Mad haPPy (and guests!) will be performing in various neighborhods in Pensacola, Florida this summer. The FREE performances will feature interactive sing-play-dance alongs to the unique compositions of Mad haPPy; being a blend of hip-hop, Afro-Cuban, Brazilian and Eastern-European syles. The communally oriented and socially conscious lyrics combine elements of rap, folk and spoken-word poetry. Mad haPPy’s home-made percussion instruments will be distributed to the audience along with lyric books for those who wish to sing along (www.Occupyongbook.com). Mad haPPy will also serve food donated by local farmers and, the electricity for the small PA and hot food will be provided by a generator powered by bicycle and solar panel in order to help generate awareness of alternative energy sources. Mad haPPy’s work promotes tolerance, health, individuality, education, explortion and creativity. Puffin West was So haPPY to give Mike and Rivka a Grant.
