Dear Java,
We received your grant award in the mail yesterday and celebrated…What we do is in many ways outside of what traditional venues are designed for. Being creatively progressive without following current “progressive” trends, and making “folk” music that defies the expectations of the folk scene, it’s easy to feel artistically homeless. The Puffin West mission exemplifies our creative endeavors and while the contribution enables us to realize our vision in a more liberated way, the endorsement is also energizing for both ourselves and our community.
