PAIN OF THE PRISON SYSTEM AND POPS THE CLUB

POPS Mission takes them into High Schools in a four state area to work with students whose lives have been impacted by the prison system. These are young people, who have been incarcerated themselves or in juvenile detention or those who have incarcerated loved ones siblings, or friends in the “system”. This club offers students an opportunity to create community, to share their stories with each other and the world at large as every year POPS the Club prints an Anthology. The clubs are guided by volunteers, teachers, counselors and are led by elected student officers. The meetings offer support, wisdom and guidance.search POPS nourishes not only the heart and mind but provides food security with lunches or breakfasts and all POPS member break bread together. The food is provided by local vendors, donors and friends. The writing of poems, stories and essays and artworks by these young people become part of the fund raising effort as these books are made available for purchase in bookstores and are distributed as both e-books and softcover books on-line through Amazon and Barnes  & Noble. http://www.popstheclub.com  “The Pain of the Prison System (POPS) is a club that truly changes how students process the emotions that come with having loved ones in prison.” (from the Good Men Project).
