ProMusica’s The Youth and Family Program is now in its 14th year.  Their Mission is   to break down the barriers that prevent many underprivileged children from enjoying the cultural experience and enrichment that music brings into our lives. This program is a standout as it partners with other community organizations* all committed to bringing educational and artistic excellence to children in grades K-5.   Puffin West is pleased to help support this type of programming outreach. Professional musicians that demonstrate and explain their instruments and basic musical concepts visit the children who participate in this multi-layered educational experience in their schools or after school venues. This year the children will be taught to discern the differences in musical styles such as the waltz vs. the tango. The children will join their visiting musicians in playing the different rhythms in a hands-on drum circle. These experiences help to provide a lasting benefit and understanding of the beauty and power of the arts. The program culminates with a free community concert.
