PSSSSST THERE’S A NAKED GUY OVER THERE!!!!!

Columbus Children’s Theatre will be presenting a Sensory Friendly Performance OF THE EMPEROR’S NEW CLOTHES on April 15-18.   For parents with a child with autism or other disabilities know that taking them to the movies or a performance can be stressful. The Children’s Theatre’s professionally trained staff and volunteers will make these performances safe, friendly and provide a welcoming environment.   A Sensory Friendly Performance encourages children to participate and vocalize their reaction to the show.   They are encouraged to laugh, dance and interact with the actors on stage. This type of programming also is designed to eliminate loud or sudden sounds from the stage, or abrupt lighting changes. The house lights will also remain on for safety and to allow freedom of movement. There will be a quiet lobby area for breaks and, there are communication cards for non-verbal guest.

The choice of the play, The Emperor’s new Clothes is also a morality tale that reflects PFW’s Mission as it is about a child standing up to POWER by stating what everyone one else was pretending not to see A NAKED SILLY OLD FAT MAN!
