TAKING IT UP A NOTCH

A New 501(c)(3) was granted last year by the IRS that allowed the Columbus Black International Film Festival to debut. It is a three-day showcase (August 23-25) of local, national and international media created by and starring African Americans and African Diaspora communities in the City of Columbus. Opening night will be at the Columbus Museum of Art. The theme this year is “Taking it Up a Notch”. There will be a filmmaker led panel discussion with Q&A as well as workshops, and an award ceremony. The event space in the Short North, Art of the Republic will also take part featuring local musicians Renee Dion, T. Wong and spoken word artist Izetta Nicole. columbusBIFF.com
