VEGGIE SNAPS @ NORTH MARKET

Last season PFW invited the Market Manager of North Market to meet with the Market Manager, Adam Schroeder, of the Pearl Alley Market to work on a plan to meld aspects of the respective Markets so that Veggie Snaps could expand into the the North Market.  Both Markets received PFW grants that again were used to doubled debits from EBT cards to allow our neighbors to buy from $5-$25 dollars more fresh locally grown produce.  A Veggie SNAP/EBT shopper would in reality be able to shop on Tuesdays and Fridays at the Pearl Market and debit ten dollars off their card each day and then shop at the North Market and debit yet another five dollars from their card! Think about the difference twenty- five dollars makes in your own food budget. This also put up to $25 dollars into the Farmers’ pocket as the MarKets made anagreement to share farmers. WIN! WIN! WIN! WIN! PFW has continued it support of the North Market this year and we are proud to have been the catalyst for the City of Columbus to step up and expand this healthful program to over 15 other Farmers Markets in Franklin County.  YIPPEE!
