WESTGATE JAM JELLS COMMUNITY

1000 mostly Westside residents of all ages -came to the Summer Jam at  Westgate Park on July 12th.  5 bands, 24 craft artisans 4 food trucks, live poetry, free face painting and other free children’s activities and perfect weather  all came together making this a GREAT day in the neighborhood.   This free arts and music festival was made possible by the generous support of sponsors including PFW which specifically allowed the Summer Jam to provide a FREE art space to all participating artists living with mental illness or physical and mental disabilities.  The Awakening Project and Open Door Art Studio were their featured artists. Puffin wishes to thank Ms. Patti Von Niessen, the event coordinator, for all of her work in helping to create an arts and music festival that was accessible to all, regardless of race, neighborhood or finances.  See you there next year!
