A most uplifting story from the PEARL MARKET
A lady and her young daughter (7 or 8 years old), who have become regulars at the Market, stopped by the Pearl Market tent at the end of the Market yesterday. The lady had brought a cart with her to carry her purchases. She insisted in unpacking her cart for Debbie (our credit card/EBT token lady) and showing her everything that she was able to buy. As she was doing so she paused and said, “I just wanted to thank you guys and show you what I’m able to buy today to help feed my family because of your matching program.” She went on to say that she knows that they are eating healthier this summer and that the Market has encouraged them to try new items.
